I recently bought a second hand car but I don't have insurance yet. Is it possible for me to tax the car online without insurance details? I don't want the arrears to build up basically.

Just put in any old numbers, they aren't checked against anything

Yeah I had read that on other threads just now, is that definitely all good? I can't get caught out or anything?

If you only bought it you have 10days to declare off road.

    Go to motortax.ie

You can select for pin retrieval.

If you have passed the 10 days don't tax and when you are going to use it sell to a family member or friend and buy it back few weeks later.

    No arears.
