I got a Taylormade one recently. It's very good. Loads of room for a big bag. Also a couple of pockets inside for extra stuff. I also got a "club glove stiff arm" to make sure that if the clubs were thrown around the heads would be protected. Went to Portugal and had no issues. Would recommend both these. Depending on your budget.

What sort of budget are you looking at as they can vary massively?

I used a Masters bag that I bought in Halpenny's for €40 this year.

I cable tied my irons together in 3s and took the heads off all my woods and cable tied the shafts together.

The heads in their covers all went in my golf bag pockets.

No problem and got two sets in with an extra 'sunday' bag as well under the weight limit.

Thats very smart. The thing for me is flying from Oz my wife and new baby will take most of the allocated weight allowance. I was hoping to only bring the clubs, no bag as I'll just grab a bag of my mattress at home. Is there many bags for clubs only.

I don't think you can do that. Golf clubs are usually classed as oversized baggage and have to be booked on separately. There's also a separate check in area for them in the airport.

There's a different weight limit for them too. AFAIR, it's 23Kg with Aer Lingus. For European flights, Aer Lingus charge €40 each way for oversized baggage I've no idea what it would be from Australia.

If money is no objective, get the below and some head covers for your irons and you'll be fine. No need to take heads off or cable ties; and the travel bag has loads of room for shoes/clothes/etc... I wouldn't bother looking at anything else unless you are thinking of a hard shell case.

Agree that Club Glove is the best if you have the money. Ohio also good at the middle of the cost curve.
