circular saw arbour change?

I am wondering if it is possible to change the arbour (place where the blade sits) to a different size. It is currently a 30mm bore and wanting to know of you could put a 20mm arbour on it instead as the choice of blades would be much better.

I am not expecting to be able to do this as I honestly don't think it is possible but I would like to know if it is possible as I said the blade choice would be better/wider choice available

Thanks in advance for any advice suggestions

Isn't there an adaptor for this.

Ya for the blade as far as I am aware. But I was wondering about it for the saw itself. Like you can put a 185*30*2.3mm blade on it no prob but you can't put a 185*20*2.3mm blade on it (which is what I would like to do).

Have a look to see if its interchangeable and if not take it out and see if you can get it machined to sized.

Did you not just answer your own question? Most blades come with a reducer ( 30 >> 20mm is common ), which is all you need.

Thanks for the advice lad's. Looked up parts for my saw and found the corresponding num for the arbour, and got the american version of it so it should fit perfectly as it is. Will let ye know how I get on with it (fit and use) thanks

The Americans work off a 5/8 " arbour. If you are going to get one make sure it is long enough to take a dado head.Don't forget the nut !
There are other products like moulding heads that can be fitted to the 5/8 inch arbor but the big advantage is the huge choice of sawblades available off US internet sites at good prices.

Ya that's exactly why I wanted to change the size of the arbour. It should be here in around two weeks or so as I'm not in a mad hurry for it, so I chose the cheapest shipping option.

I know it is a long time to wait but the saw is functions as it is so I'll get by until I get it.
