I say this everytime someone of her vintage dies but she really must be the last of the golden age of Hollywood except I know Angela Lansbury is still going strong.

Age 95? That is a good long life. My grandad was mad about her...but she was 20 years younger than him.

    No she's not.

Maureen O'Sullivan was Mia Farrows mother.I think she starred in the early Tarzan movies.

She was great as the racist mother of John Candy in Only The Lonely. Not subtle, but very funny.

Me too, and I'm only 25! I can't get through the day without a gallon of coffee and I'm always tired

    RIP Maureen

Met her before her final flight away from Ireland. Sharp and funny. Her autobiography is a cracking read of a very long fulfilling life.

Her dad was a director at Shamrock Rovers and she grew up going to games at Milltown. Never failed to mention the club over the years.

The President, another great League of Ireland fan, has this to say today:

Just talking to my Dad tonight, apparently Maureen was the ultimate pin up for his Dad my grandad, he had a sweet spot for her. He died in 1987, just shows what an innings she had.

Her family have said she wants people to remember her by visiting Ireland.

For an Old Film The Quiet Man brings back alot of memories from my childhood as it was one of me Nannys favourite movies (she passed this month aged 95).
It was shown yesterday afternoon, hadnt seen it in awhile but looking at Maureen O'Hara in it she was a real stunner,a gorgeous looking woman!!! if she was born 60 odd years later (what a innings) she'd wipe the floor with whats out there now.

    RIP
