any opinions on how to improve my add or help me sell this, it's a clean genuine car, I have 2 cars at the moment so needed to sell one on, ive spent a lot on it in the last few months getting it straight. I've been offered swaps etc but no genuine straight buyers, opinions welcome, thanks

I'd add to your ad to text, people hate voicemail. You will get the occasional tool texting you but also potential buyers.

I'd say your biggest pitfall is the fact it isn't a tdi daysul. Most of the golf target market are in search of a diesel. I'm stumped tbh, looks like a well minded, clean car, great ad description too... can't see why there isn't interest?

Is it priced in line with other 04 petrols, remember that they should be priced lower than the diesels, seeing as they aren't as sought after.

All I'd do to the pics is scrub the wheel arches with a brush and some apc to leave them clean and black, and get a bit of tyre shine on the tyres to compliment the nice shiny paintwork.

That will sell certainly. Just leave it advertised for a while, someone will almost certainly come along. Maybe advertise it in your local paper and shop notice board too.

I had no real interest in my Mk5 for a month or more, but it sold to the first and only viewer.

I just had a look at the car there, and that will sell very soon I'm sure. I'd buy it myself if I had the cash, as I need an upgrade. Lovely car and nice and clean. You won't be waiting long for a buyer to come along.

Have added that in now about texting. I've had a couple of calls, mainly people offering other cars and cash in part exchange but I already have a second car so am looking for a straight sale.

I'll give the wheel arches a power hose and tidy that picture up, I was just trying to get across the new tyres that I only got for it in September. It's the 1.6 petrol and tax that puts most people off.

Thanks, it's only been over a week alright but only had two people interested on the phone, no viewers yet. Might try the local paper at the weekend also

Thanks for your vote of confidence, it is well kept alright, will just need to be patient.

    Looks grand.

p.s. You misspelt "brake pads" as "break pads". Just a small thing.

Reduced the price to €3,500, getting some interest

i'd take out reduced, makes you look desperate or dodgy. just let the price do the talking.

have you advertised anywhere else. DoneDeal posts your advert by date so after a couple of days its pushed down the list and most people wont find it.

good add otherwise, i reckon you've done your best now! biggest problem i guess is everybody who wants a golf wants a daysul, but there's not much you can do about that.

Just let it sit for a week or two and then renew the ad then. It's coming up to Christmas and probably not a great time to be selling a car.

We sold my wife's 08 Kia Ceed 1.4 petrol a month ago. It had been advertised for nearly 2 months with absolutely zero interest. It was very well priced but was slow to sell. I stopped renewing the DD ad and a few weeks later my wife just resigned herself to the fact it wasn't going to sell and she'd drive it for another while. We then got one call about it and that person viewed it and bought it there and then and drove away in it.

If your in no rush then just be patient and a buyer will come along.

Might renew it again at the weekend on donedeal. Have it advertised on backroads and bmw driver.net. Might put it in the local paper eventually.

Thanks, I knew buying it day one alright that it didnt appeal to everyone

I found renewing once a week on a Friday morning is best, this will get it top of the search listings for people looking at cars on a Friday to view at the weekend.
