My problem is that RTE1 channel is fine one minute and gone the next
What i mean by fine is the the picture is perfect
Then a few seconds later signal goes no picture at all
then a few seconds later the picture comes back again

I have a sharp TV with inbuilt tuner

I have a high gain DTT aerial on the roof

The cable goes down into the attic where i have a booster 1 cable goes directly to the sharp TV

I have rescanned a few times but still get the same problem.

i have checked all the connections a few times

i have the aerial pointed towards cahir direction.

i installed it myself, i am not a professional.

    any help appreciated.

Not that it should have the final say but, if you go to the Saorview coverage checker, & move the marker to your location, which transmitter does it recommend? Is your aerial pointing this way, & with the correct polarisation?

From the sorview website it recommends

    Site: Clonmel
    Channels: 55, 59
    Polarization: H

I have a Wideband Grid UHF Aerial pointing in that general direction on the roof.
I think this aerial can pickup v or h polarisation, I think I have it set up fine.

Most of the time RTE1 is fine, but it gets worse as the day goes on.
From about 6pm to 11pm it cuts in and out. picture is fine one minute then the next no signal comes up on the screen and then back to a normal picture again.

The aerial has to be installed for either horizontal or vertically polarised signals, it isn't designed to receive both at once: pictures here.

I suppose in the evenings there would be potential for more electrical interference in residential areas, as opposed to earlier in the day, & this would impact on an already borderline signal, & it's also possible this could be caused by a worn or malfunctioning electrical item, maybe even in your own home, & as such could be eliminated.
