Do Today FM Use Newscasts to Advertise?

Maybe this is old hat but I was listening to Today FM yesterday and the 4 o'clock bulletin was on. After they read the main news stories the final piece read the newscaster was a piece about a new show on Sky TV that night. It wasn't newsworthy and I was just wondering would Sky have paid for that slot the same way as they would pay for 30 seconds during an ad break.

I rarely listen to Today FM so perhaps this is normal for what they consider news.

If you're running short on news content you'll put anything in to meet your requirements.

If you're really convinced it was paid content though, the BAI would be interested in the complaint. News and advertising content needs to be clearly delineated and news cannot be sponsored - this is why you often get a sports, traffic and weather sponsor mentioned as soon as possible after the news.
