Timing in Hotel Spa for Shellac manicure & pedicure

    Quick quessie here:

Normally when I get shellac manicure & pedicure in standard nail artist I'd have both done perfect in under one hour.
Next month I'm booked into a hotel for a cycle the next day. I've given myself only one day off that week away from books, notes & research and that's the day I arrive (before the cycle).
^^ I've booked myself into the hotel spa for shellac manicure & pedicure but the timings are 45mins each. An extra 30mins for both compared to standard experience.

^^^ Can someone explain why extra time would be allocated for a hotel spa? Thinking it's to do with the 'spa' atmosphere but just wondering? Trying to plan my day as I've never been in that area before (about 4hours drive) so want to explore a little and will need to factor in food at some point also.

    Many Thanks,
    kerry4sam

When you say shellac manicure and pedicure what do you mean? Typically a manicure and pedicure involve a scrub and cuticle work, and generally a shellac application is just that. Shaping the nail, pushing back cuticles if nessessary and the application. That would be done in under an hour.

Maybe the hotel spa allows for a mini mani/pedi with each application or maybe a massage. It's going to be more relaxing/luxurious in a spa than in your typical conveyor belt style nail bar

I'd say it's to take in the more spa like atmosphere as opposed to the normal in and out in a nail salon.
Enjoy it and give yourself plenty of time :)

Are you saying your usual shellac manicures are only 15mins long?

Mine are usually 30-40mins. Can't imagine it being done in less time than that unless no 'manicure' part is actually happening.

They are probably incorporating relaxing and possibly massage time in their 45mins.
