Ref jumped in just before he said it though, nothing wrong with the timing of the stoppage on that evidence but I haven't seen round 1.

I really do not know why this is all over social media and the news tbh.

Reminds me of Manny/Margarito though where Manny stopped at one point and looked at the ref like "cmon man". I also recall Roy Jones stopping mid way through the fight and asked the ref why hadn't he stopped it and the ref said keep going before Roy knocked his guy out a second later.

Martin Rogan v Sexton was another one, he laid off to call on the ref to stop the fight and he ended up being TKOd himself as he had a swollen eye!!
