Vehicle purchased 19th October (afternoon - VRC thrown to mail box at 4pm).
20th October - Notified about change of ownership (according to motortax website)
21st October - VRC issued (according to motortax office)
22nd October - VRC arrived to my mailbox in the morning.

    I'm really impressed.

Did you deliver it directly to their office?

You can be lucky with postal arrangements etc, ive also got VLC's back within a week in some cases, never longer than 2 weeks.

Nice to get a positive report from our State services for a change.
In fact many of them are very efficient even though most go unpraised or even acknowledged.

I'm more surprised that Cinio is happy about something! :D

All good with my name spelling ;)

Only mistake on a cert is number of seats in the car, but everything else is correct.
That's a fairly good result considering how much data this document contains :D

Very unusual. I sent one off last Friday afternoon and got it back yesterday morning, 5 working day turnaround

I'd ring them. Possibly lost or never sent in.

Always found them very good, even had to call them a couple of times and they were excellent.

Still waiting on pat oconnell motors limerick to sort this. Very frustrating. Tell me... is there nothing I can do to take matters in my own hands?

Does motortax.ie show this car as having passed into a Dealer's hands ?
If yes, then hound him another couple of times, although it may well have been transferred to another Dealer who subsequently sold it to O'Connell.
If not, then it's still in the name of the previous owner.
Either way, as you don't live near the M50 (unless you're planning a trip to Dublin soon) your next option is to get a Parking Ticket in Limerick.
The Fine for this will be sent to the previous owner. Let him hound Pat O'Connell Car Sales on this issue. You will probably end up having to pay for this ticket eventually, but if it gets things moving it's worth it for your sanity :).

My son had exactly the same problem with Munster Trade Sales (I have no problem naming them as they were the ones who couldn't be ar$ed to transfer ownership ....online, so it's even not that hard).
A return trip Through the M50 toll saw the VLC through the letterbox 4 days later.

Ring them. Mine got "lost in the post" and I had to report it lost to the guards and pay for the privilege of a replacement.

I've been waiting two weeks now since the dealer said he sent it off. Presumably he should be the one paying for a replacement if it has been lost in the post?

Depends. For me the change of ownership happened but I never received the cert although the Shannon office claimed they posted it. So really I should have paid nothing but I needed it quickly so just paid rather than argue.

Still waiting.... don't buy a car from this wheeler dealer....

I drove thru m50 toll twice last night....hopefully the bill goes to original owner and lights a fire in them.
