When I heard this my first reaction was

The anchor is basically like "it would be a SHAME if an ACCIDENT happened in the KITCHEN, muslims."

Who do you reckon the anchor would love to see offed in a suicide bombing? Yikes.

Well if someone is going to kill a candidate or Presidential candidate they have to be nutty enough to be prepared to die.
.50 calibre rifles are available in gunshops in the US with a range of exotic armor piercing ammo and plenty of highly trained shooters who have transitioned from the military to civilian life who might have the skills to pull something off.
Alternatively a nut who owns a secluded property and has lots of time on his hands could build himself a massive bomb and set it off near a passing motorcade leveling a city block.
If Anders Breivik was luckier he could have taken out the Norwegian government with his van bomb while Oscar Ortega fired a semiautomatic rifle at a White House window and was only caught because a housekeeper found the bullet hole after security had mistaken the shots for unrelated construction activity.
