I'm using the Vu+ Duo2 with a DVB-C/T/T2 tuner and a dual Satellite tuner. Was not aware that you can get a dual version of the terrestrial.

    Great receiver.

For now, the single terrestrial tuner is fine as I have not had any conflicts in recording from the two muxes. It is possible to record multiple channels on a single mux at the same time so you could record RTE 2HD, TV3, TG4 and 3e all at the same time. The same is true of the satellite tuners.

I haven't ordered the box yet. And I have to talk to the supplier about the dual terrestrial tuner.

Do you use auto bouquet maker and cross epg for the satellite channels ? And does the saorview 7 day guide work?

    Thanks

Looking on the web the difference between the cost of the single and dual tuner is only €33 or so. Worth getting the dual for such a small difference.

Yes, I use auto-bouquet maker and cross-epg. Both work well. Takes a bit of mucking about to get it working but once it's set up it is rock solid.

Saorview 7 day guide works a treat.

Which image are you using, Blackhole 2.1.7?

Ive a couple of questions for you. Its hard to find someone with this setup so I really appreciate your info.

    1. Do the Saorview channels need a bouquet of their own separate from the satellite channels.
    2. If you did add the RTEs to the beginning of the satellite bouquet would auto-bouquet maker remove them again each night when it does its update?

    Thanks

    Vu Duo2
    1X twin sat tuner
    1X single DVB T2
    500GB 3.5 in disk
No the Saorview channels can be wherever you like
In my experience if you run autoboquets it will overwrite your existing boquets
Have heard people say that if you put your favorites boquet at the end of the list it wont get overwritten
But I have found this not to be the case

Using dreamboxedit you can create 1 boquet and delete all the others just drag and drop the stations you like into the 1 boquet rte and sat combined

As I only have a single Terrestial tuner I have run a fly lead from the ANT out of the tuner card to the ant in of My saorview set so I can still watch Saorview While recording another saorview channel

also as its a fairly hi spec box you can also use USB tuners
but to be honest I have never had a need to record more than 3

Using open vix and have had 0 issues so far

    Also using OpenVix

I have the SaorView channels at the top of my EPG Channels1 to 6. Then I use the standard FreeSat EPG placement for the Sat channels. I used Auto-Bouquet to set this up initially and then used dreamBox edit to put in the Irish Channels. I do not use Auto Bouquet to update the channels. In the 6 months or so I have had to redo the channel list once to pick up changes.

I was going to try Blackhole but as both of ye are using Openvix and seem happy with it, I might also choose Openvix. Did any of ye try Blackhole?

I did try it. It worked fine but I didn't like the look of it.

Which version of openvix are ye using? There seems to be a new version every week.

    Thanks

I just went with the latest version at the time. Have not updated it as didn't see a need to. OpenVix releases tend to be pretty stable so it's safe to go with the latest. And if, for some reason, you do experience issues you can always reflash the box. You are probably going to have to do that a few times in the first few days.

Thanks for the help. Ive just ordered the box with dual sat + dual terrestrial tuners :)

Do you use "cool tv guide" or is the vix epg ok?

    CrossEPG for me

Been doing lots of reading. And from what Ive gathered people are using 3 plugins on enigma2 boxes.

Auto-Bouquets Maker : Looks after your channel list
CrossEPG : Adds the 7 day guide
Cool Tv Guide : Presents the above information on screen in a nice fashion

Maybe you dont need Cool Tv Guide with openvix ?
