    Thinking of this.

    Thoughts?

What i like - plenty of space, economical, well under budget & low mileage.

I know it will be 4 year old in 2016 - but is it worth spending an extra 3/4k just to move up to 2014 model with in and around same mileage.

This for example is €2k more and a 132 model (so a year/18 months newer).

My wife would only be putting 10k miles on it per year anyway and we'd prob drive it for 6 - 8 years (hopefully).

Personally, I'd never spend that much money on a Renault. Especially if it's the wife needs to depend on it.

If I was you, I'd go for something like this Prius.
T-Spirit Model from the UK, so she's fully loaded. And would be infinitely more reliable than that Fluence.

    All the above IMHO.

Are renaults that bad? I thought most modern cars were reliable at this stage.

I see a lot if fluences being driven around.

I drive a bmw, a golf before that and the wife drives an old golf now so no experience with Renault.

Maybe I lol look at a Jetta or Passat but that will likely mean spending 16k or so for 2012 model (oldest I'd want) with 40/50k miles

These were only about 15-16k when they were new. I jniw they've put the price up since.
The fluence Supposed to be very well made. I wouldn't buy into the whole "all renaults are crap" thing.
That one isn't great value IMO. There's a new megane coming soon, I think they're doing stonking deals in new ones.

Here's decently specced ex rental 2015 megane for 17500

Maybe try a dealer and tell them you'll only buy brand new or ordered and see what they can do.
