    Hi All,
Just a quick one that some of ye may have experienced. I had an accident 2 years ago & am still recovering & have had numerous doctors examinations over the 2 years. However, recently I was examined by a PIAB specialist, who was indifferent & rude & I was in & out of the examination in 10 mins,I could see by him during the examination as I had movement in the injured area,he was dismissive of my actual injuries.

I received his report via my solicitor & there are actual errors & contradictions in his actual report from getting the actual side of injury mixed up,to stating the injuries are not relating to the accident & then stating that they are consistent with the accident.

I advised the solicitor of these gross indiscrepancies, & he has stated that the PIAB report will have gone to both sides and it is not a report that he commissioned so he doesn't have the right to have it corrected. However he will be relying on the medical reports from my doctor as against the PIAB medical report.

I know my GP years,he is our family doctor, when I go to see him for a prescription...he just gives it to me,doesnt examine me or anything.... I am concerned that they will take the PIAB medical report as he was a specialist in my particular injury.

MY case has now been referred to the circuit court due to another issue.

Anyone got any advice,I would love to hear it as my solicitor is not the easiest to talk to,his general attitude is leave me to do my job !!

thanks & sorry its so long winded.

Whatever you do, don't say this under examination! This will cast great doubt as to your doctor's credibility and professionalism.

This thread can stay open as long as it does not stray into legal advice territory.

As ridiculous as it may sound, the Injuries Board tends to use the same doctors as the insurance companies. You encountered an insurance company doctor who made little of your injuries. This is a fairly common occurrence. In this instance, people need to rely upon the medical evidence that they can bring, themselves. At the moment, what you have is your own medical reports, etc. If matters proceed to trial, I presume that your solicitor will arrange to bring your doctors as witnesses.
