Raw, dirty, scuzzy metal

    Sometimes I feel that metal for the most part is too polished and nice-sounding. You just need a loud, ugly, dirty racket from time to time :)


    There were better Bathory albums than the self-titled debut, but the production on this album makes it sound like it was recorded in a dungeon.


    You can't beat Venom for a slice of evil, tuneless noise.


    I have a hard time figuring out whether this is thrash, black or death metal, or hardcore punk. Perhaps all of the above. They certainly loved their blastbeats though.
