So I (think) I've come around to the idea that I need to redo the bathroom. I'm looking for other ppls ideas, thoughts etc.

At present there is an electric shower over bath and tiles all round this with shower curtain, Tiled floor, sink, press over sink, towel warmer and toilet. Walls are painted around rest of bathroom.

I need to keep bath for kids although would love a big walk in shower instead but I think this will have to wait till next renovation. So any suggestions on how to keep water in. Stick to shower curtain? Put up shower door (which are a pain to clean IMO and can leak in time)?

Cont'd... (Cos for some annoying reason I cant post anything with any sort of length)

Leaving the towel warmer as is. No external walls so no need to heat the room really as is generally warm. Room has good extractor fan.

Replacing toilet so that can have a small or normal flush. And sink with mixer taps and storage under. For toilet roll holder - one that suctions on? Or drill in to wall/tile?

Putting a press up above sink with mirror and lights. Not bothered adding in sockets for shaving or anything like that.

Contemplating tiling all of the walls. Are there any downsides to this? My logic is young kids splash water, can miss when aiming for toilet so I'm thinking it would be easier to clean. But don't want the grout going gunky or pink with time which can be impossible to remove with time.

Is there anything that anybody else would suggest or have found useful in their experiences?

    Thanks!

    Just my tuppence worth...
I redid my bathrooms not long ago and replaced all the sanitary ware with modern stuff, fully tiled the ensuite and downstairs loo as these were small but the main bathroom which is bigger I only part tiled. I tiled around the bath and put a full height panel of tiles behind the sink with a mirror set in. My reason for this was that grout is a pain to keep clean & tiles go out of fashion very quickly and especially, border tiles, it would be a huge job to have to re-tile an entire bathroom given that most walls are only plasterboard and would need replastering as well.
My plan is to have the wall between to bath and sink painted in a strong colour and the rest neutral (tiles are neutral creamy/white).
Replace the shower curtain with a nice bath screen, they're much easier to clean than a manky, mouldy curtain. Nice colourful towels/accessories and it will look great.
Have a look on Houzz/Daft for ideas.
