Tea cake, alternative recipe

I am hoping to find a recipe suitable for a young child. Attached is a recipe for sugar free tea cake. My gran makes similar and while great because it's sugar free I can't imagine the baby would be mad about it.

Would it be possible to make this lighter? Maybe using a fruit tea and dried fruit like figs, prunes and apricots?

Really I'm trying to find a new way to get prunes into him so any other suggestions also appreciated.

    Thanks.
