    Hi folks,

just curious about the amount of convertible owners in the motor's forum and maybe gauge interest in a meet/spin when the weather picks up..........I know!! :)

I havd a R170 Slk 200 I use it daily all year round and really like it, its a nice cruiser with plenty of comfort and is lively enough for me.

Bright red Mazda MX-5, the roof of which is open pretty much whenever it's not raining, summer and winter.

MR2 MK3 Roadster and like Alun I will put the top down anytime I won't get to wet.

**Edit** Met a big group of MG 's over from UK last year in Wicklow. One older couple had a really old convertible that he had completely restored to absolutely concourse standard. Saw them a few days later flying through Roundwood in pissing rain with the top down and she had one of those old ladies bonnets tied down around her ears - stuff like that has to make you smile.

I've got an '86 LeBaron that has seen very little use since I moved to Ireland from London almost 10 years ago. I'm seriously considering getting rid of it.

I am a all-year-round convertible user too. Roof pretty much off when weather is ok (not raining, not overly stormy).

I have BMW e36 convertible and Smart Roadster Coupe soft top.

Running 2 MG TFs at the moment. Generally, if the wipers are off, the roof is down.

Meet up/spin for convertibles sounds like a good idea. Any excuse to go topless :)

My missus is looking for highlights and a perm. Have I found the right Forum?

No, you're looking for 'Tired cliches' over in isle 6.

CLK Convertible here, roof down any chance I get.

I drove mine to Sligo and back from Bray in the same day. She'd have some perm and a few highlights if she'd been on THAT spin :D

Nice few so far! Its hard to go back to a normal car once you get used to a soft top, I got some great use this year again even up to last week, your well protected from the weather in my car anyway.

would anyone be interested in a meet up? I'm in clare/limerick but dont mind a spin

Currently have a 01 mx5. Last car was a mint condition R170 Slk 230. First convertible was a 2006 mx5 which I regret selling to this day. Incidentally sold Alun above all the extras I had off my 2006 mx5.

Strongly considering purchasing the new mx5 - Ireland is perfect for convertibles 😀

Blue MR2 Roadster here (second car). Taxed it for the full year this year. Has a great heater so can use it top down as long all year as it's not actually raining.

Regularly use it commuting to Dublin.

I'm also rebuilding a second one (green) after replacing a shot engine.
