Peugeot 206 2008 Emission Control System warning light came on day after NCT/MOT

    My partner's 2008 Petrol 206 has recently had a problem with the Emission Control System warning light coming on (with one beep) and staying on.

    We've recently serviced the car about 2 months ago and the day after we took it for the MOT (live in the UK now) which it passed, the warning light came on.

    We topped up the petrol in a Co-Op garage within 24 hours of passing the MOT and the warning light came on after that. We've had one 30 mile round trip and some light usage since the MOT.
    It's been doing it for a week or so.

    Anyone got any ideas what has caused it? and possibly remedy it.
