Sorry if this is the wrong forum but I had to ask about this email I received yesterday. It's from "shopper@worldpay.com" - I had never heard of WorldPay.com but Googled it and it seems to be a legitimate website. The email subject title was "WorldPay CARD transaction Confirmation".

The body of the email is as follows:
    Transaction Confirmation

    Please retain for your records

    Thank you

Your transaction has been processed by WorldPay, on behalf of TRADE FIX ONLINE LTD.

    Transaction details:

Transaction for the value of: GBP 599.99
    Description: sds pack
    From: TRADE FIX ONLINE LTD
    Merchant's cart ID: VT-02-*name*
    Authorisation Date/Time: 19/Oct/2015 14:34:38
    WorldPay's transaction ID: 4907243327
This is not a tax receipt.
    Enquiries

This confirmation only indicates that your transaction has been processed successfully. It does not indicate that your order has been accepted. It is the responsibility of TRADE FIX ONLINE LTD to confirm that your order has been accepted, and to deliver any goods or services you have ordered.

If you have any questions about your order, please email TRADE FIX ONLINE LTD at: HELEN.TRADEFIX@GMAIL.COM, with the transaction details listed above.
Thank you for shopping with TRADE FIX ONLINE LTD.

When you submit your transaction for processing by WorldPay you confirm your acceptance of WorldPay's shopper privacy policy, a copy of which can be viewed at: http://www.worldpay.com/shopper/privacy/

To find out more about how your transaction was processed, visit WorldPay's Frequently Asked Questions at:
    http://www.worldpay.com/shopper/faqs/

I'm not too familiar with these things, I'm hoping it's a scam email and I can delete it but wanted to ask here before I do. Can anyone advise?

Did you buy anything online for hat value?
Did you check your bank account?

I didn't buy anything of that value. Going to the bank this afternoon to check if there was a transaction.

Call the number on the back of your debit/credit card. They'll tell you quickly without the hassle of queueing in the bank.

It's sounds like a scam, if you were to contact them at that email address provided probably she will ask you to send your credit card number details to check, If you want to contact them use the contact details in their own website.

Your credit card company can check if there was any charges or attempt to charge to your credit card.

I would say obviously a scam. Even if someone had your credit card details, why and how would an order be placed using your email address? That would never happen. If you're ordering on a stolen credit card, you don't send the receipts to the card's owner to tip them off that you've stolen their card.

It's a phishing scam. Delete and move on.

The use of a gmail account poorly dressed up as a supplier account and the use of a very generic company name are clear pointers to a scam
