    Hi All

Someone I know in the industry told me about software used for data analyticis before but I never read up on it. Essentially, before you even join a bookmaker, chances are they already know the type of sites you visit & sport you bet on in great detail.

Spotted this on the web when browsing and thought I'd share. Unfortunately, I found 4 programs on my computer & have now deleted. The mains program were loaded 2 yrs ago & both refreshed yesterday when I was betting. The dirty bastaxds.

    Found on my PV.
    The directory is dated 09/10/2015.

That is around the time a local bookmaker sent me a file I requested of my betting history and customer notes.

Found two files on my pc. Both dated 15/10/15 and when I checked back through my PP account it was the exact time I lodged funds. I've deleted the files but haven't blocked them and will check regularly to see if and when they reappear.

Kevin Blake and Neil Channing brought this up on the final furlong podcast a few weeks ago (3hours long about bookies not taking bets)

Very worrying that they're getting away with it.

industry needs to be better regulated

Can't tell you at what stage Iesnare comes up, but it's worth listening to the whole thing if you have the time.

Most examples seem to be in flash, wasn't there some controversy about that and PP a while back?

Is Iesnare the only data sharing software we know of?

As I understand it gets the same digital fingerprint that any website that uses javascript can see, the only thing that makes it less secure is that this is stored in a central system and shared between subscribers.
Or can it access more information such as our mac address?

I use privacy badger and sometimes the web page won't load properly in Firefox

I have amended iesnare via hosts and they don't get anything

    Betfair are the culprits

coral and betfred use it it 2

you can unblock some of the other items on privacy badger to make pages work better while still blocking iesnare etc

Ghostery is a 1st class add-on, can be set to block all sorts of cookies, trackers and web-beacons.
Also having a slightly outdated flash plugin will automatically block all flash content unless you click allow to run under specific conditions.
Firefox is probably the best choice of browser to run these from
