Hi guys just wondering if anyone has had anything similar recently.
I arrived home this evening to a letter from social welfare telling me i have an appointment with them on Thursday at 9.40. It says i need to bring photo id, rent agreement, reciept, bank /post office statments and maintence agreement.

I am on lone parents and i get rent allowance. The thing is i am moving out of rented accommodation in 2 weeks and have given my landlord notice etc..

The letter doesnt say if its about my lone parents claim or the rent allowance. I was thinking they probably see that my rent allowance is due to be renewed and it could be checking if i still qualify for it, but wouldn't they just ask me to post out the documents etc..

And if its about my lone parents payment im worried they think im lying and are going to treat me like a criminal. Just looking for some advice if this is normal practice from them, any information or advice greatly appreciated. Thanks

Relax, gather up the necessary paperwork and see what they want.

If nothing in your circumstances has changed and you're not lying about anything, then don't worry.
It could just be a review.

I received a similar letter. I work 1 day a week. But my old employer sold up to someone else and I just stayed with the new fellow.
