    I have gone sale agreed on a house and am looking for a solicitor but am unsure of how much i should be paying. Do they still charge a % of the sale price or is it a fixed rate nowadays and if anybody knew roughly what price or % that usually is that would be great. Thanks.

    Lots of current threads relating to this with info and examples.

    Search 'solicitor fees' in this forum.

    We paid circa €2500 in April of this year.
    Bought for €215k in north Dublin.

    That includes the now mandatory registration of deeds etc

    Edit : stamp duty would be in top of that figure.

    We have recently gone sale agreed and had a full breakdown of costs from our solicitor to accept. Professional fees will be fixed at €1000 but the total which will be due, including 1% stamp duty, searches, registration of deeds etc is going to be around €5700.

    We recently closed on a sale and we paid the following;

    Solicitor Basic Fee - 1,353.00 Euro including Vat

    Registration Fees on Transfer - 700.00 Euro

    Folio & File Plan - 40.00 Euro

    Searches - 67.00 Euro

    Purchase price was in excess of 200K.

    Stamp Duty of 1% also paid.

    i just got this from a quick google search.
    Most people pay 1 per cent stamp duty .
    There s no set fee ,its up to each solicitor to set the fee .
