    Hi All
Is it possible to get a photo beam sensor that will work on astec 63D alarm or is it just too old ?

Failing that is it possible to get an outdoor pir that I could install above the back door and get it to buzz or beep when something moves in front of it

My sister is getting nervous coming up toward christmas and there have been a few breakins in the area in last few days
I put in an astec 63D about 6 years ago and its working fine she would just like something that will activate if someone removed the glass and got in through the rear door
so im kind of thinking maybe a photo beam or outside pir
    Thanks

You can fit an 12 volt dc generic device by putting a 680ohm resistor across the contacts.
If you just want it for this but not as a full alarm zone connect it to a separate input & programme as technical & enable chime for that contact. That way it will activate the keypad buzzer whenever it is activated.

Thank You for your quick reply Koolkid
By connect it to a seperate input do you mean a seperate zone
    thanks again :-)

Yes. Once you programme the zone as technical there can be no ordinary alarm devices on it.

    Yes the same principle.
With HKC you can also match an output to a technical zone.

Thks koolkid. Sounds handy with all the burglaries ... You can fit a device on front of house and program rkp to beep on detecting movement .. That's excellent if so. Would you happen to have a link for a hkc one? Thks

It would be any global external device . Not a HKC one.
