Small city car

I am looking for advice as I am thinking of buying a small car for city driving. The budget is about 10k max, am thinking a 1.0 or 1.2l petrol engine that offers good fuel economy for urban driving. Any advice appreciated as I know very little about small petrol engines and what to look out for (am a diesel head!). Age wise I am not too picky, I guess something less than 5 years old. Thanks.

Check out the Fiat Panda. I've got a 2011 1.2 and it's been great. No major issues with it. It'll turn on a stamp. Fuel economy wise there are possibly better out there. Average at around 45mpg.
