Some leave them be and if a calf comes lucky and well, good, if not lucky they take the hit.

Some leave them be and if a calf comes they rise a fuss with the original farmer looking money in leu of lost beef,

Some inject everything an if they throw a calf it Lies at the back of ditches and the don't give a damn,

I personally have a dependable scanner man, I'll get him when he's local and if there's a calf I'll inject if it's only early stages or don't inject if it's too far on,

Don't like the luck of killing a fairly well developed calf unless mothers life at stake,

Just my personal opinion of what I do with small amounts,
Big beef farmers may use a different rule.

Keep them for five or six weeks and scan them then. There's lads that scour the Marts hoping to get up to e3 a day for their keep but most lads hate getting an incalf. I've a couple of very good cows that I bought as incalf heifers that were bought as a gamble,I have to say most were very lucky. They'll never come into 7-800kg cows but they are breeding well so I'm in no panic to move them on.

Thanks for the advise. Maybe I will go with Miname's advise and scan them in a few weeks.
