Where to do security training?

For quite a while I've been thinking about doing some security training to work as a bouncer at a club or something similar. I found fetac courses in door security etc but what are the other options available for such a job?
Also what are bar/club owners looking for when they hire security staff? Do they want a qualification or just complete these courses and some experience? I realise I would need to get quite a bit of experience before being hired anywhere.
    Any info is appreciated!

Stand outside your front door for a few hours, give you a feel for it.

My advice stay well away from it.
Do you really want to go to work to be abused, threatned, assaulted, working unsociable hours and in many cases for low money for the risks.
The good clubs that pay good money are few and far between.

Just walk up to a club with a few mates on a Saturday night and stand at the door. When the regular doormen come along tell them thier services are no longer required.

Do the course, get your licence and apply to security companies, chat to doormen on bars/clubs and ask who they work for and if they know if the company is hiring. Most will be happy enough to give you contact details of the company.

As stated above its not for everyone especially coming into the winter months and a heads up, December is a nightmare of a month but if you feel you still want to do it then get your licence and apply.

    Application doc with details here
