Best Noise Cancelling Headphones for €150 or Less

I have a pair of Sennheiser HD 439 headphones for the last 18 months. I like them quite a bit, they are comfortable and produce a decent sound but when it comes to cancelling out noise they just don't cut it.

I bought them based upon recommendations from various YouTube videos as well as reviews on Amazon that rated them positively. However when I use them at home, the T.V. could be only on low yet I can hear it clearly. If I'm on public transport any noise can easily be heard. I get the luas to and from college and I use them to watch videos on my tablet based upon what I'm studying at the moment and it can be distracting. They are also classed as closed back headphones on Amazon where I bought them, so now I'm hesitant to buying another pair on the internet that claim to be closed back without having a comprehensive test of them first.

Does anyone know of any stores in or around Dublin that let you test over the ear headphones before you buy them? Or do any of you recommend actual noise cancelling headphones?

Best NC headphones are made by Bose since they own all the best patents.
Unfortunately they all RRP for €300.

Sony do a few nice-looking wireless+NC headphones; check Amazon for best prices.

Bose have a store in Dundrum so I'll drop by there someday soon and see what they have. Thanks for that.
