Quick question, can you play in the same comp twice? For example, if the comp is open on a saturday for a few hours to play and sunday, Can you play both days? I played today, didnt play great, would like to rectify my mishaps and head out tomorrow, is that allowed? Would you get .1 back in both if you played brutal in both?

You can only enter a competition once unless it is specifically classed as re-entry

    Weeeell, sorta.
You can play legal rounds of golf both days, no problem, with valid cards for both days.
You can enter a supplementary score on one or other day although you must nominate this as such before you go out. And you will not be in the competition but play a round with your mates. And saving yourself an entry fee. And yes, you will get 0.1 back both days if you play brutal both days (or be cut both days if you shoot two good scores !).
However, as above, unless its specifically a reentry competition, you cannot have two shots at winning a prize and so are only in the competition on one of the rounds.
It depends whether your interest is in two shots at the prizes, or whether its just playing competition level golf for handicap challenge purposes even though one of the rounds will not count for the competition proper.

What is your supporting evidence for above.

A search for "Supplementary Scores Congu" will bring up information required. Can't link on phone.

I'm pretty sure that a supplementary round on day 1 would not be allowed at all... a breach of practicing the course in competition.

A supplementary score would be ok for Day 2 afaik, but it could be blocked by the fact some clubs have their own rules stating that competition time is for competitions only.

Ok ta Par, sometimes i like to play both days over the weekend, playing the 2nd time to try and get cut is something that i would love to be able to do.

Not 100% but I think there is a limit on the amount of supplementary rounds you are allowed to do each year. Think it's 3 or 4. It would be a nightmare for clubs to admin if guys were coming in with supp cards every week.

I was a member in The Curragh a few years ago and you could enter weekend comps there twice, I used to play on Saturday and Sunday every weekend, submitting both scorecards. Haven't heard of it being allowed anywhere else.

I'm surprised that somewhere like the Curragh doesn't have a separate comp for Sat & Sun.

So was I. It would make more sense IMO to do that. Before (or since) playing there I've never heard of anywhere else you're allowed to do this.
