Which car would you pick?

I'm looking for a new car and would like some advice. I don't put much miles on it during the year, basically 10 min drive and back to work daily, around the town or odd trip up the country for weekends. My current car is a Toyota petrol 05. Storage isn't a big deal for me either.
Having browsed the last week or so I have it down to two: Nissan Quasqui Diesel engine 2014 or Hyundai Santa Fe also diesel.
Which car out of these two would you advise given my driving habits?

Do you need a diesel for such short spins? Might cause a few problems with dpf's etc

Thanks for reply. What are dpf if you don't mind? I'm not really a tech head with cars. Well it is short journeys but the two cars have a lot going for them in terms of reliability and warranty etc that's what I was mostly basing my decision on.

OP you really don't need a diesel car but my advice is do some research on diesel cars and short stop/start driving before jumping in not knowing where you are landing. There is plenty of information on the web regarding this information.

Diesel cars are designed to be driven, they are not designed for occasional potting about in, they have filters fitted to them (dpf) to burn off particles in order to make them "cleaner" and "kinder" to the environment. If the car is not driven properly then the dpf cannot do it's job, it gets blocked and you end up with a car that isn't running right. Also it takes a diesel engine alot longer to warm up than a petrol engine so a 10 min drive will not even get the diesel engine running at peak efficiency so it won't offer any fuel saving advantage on such a short journey.

The Qashqai is available in petrol also which makes more sense in your case imo.

    A nice I 30 would do fine,stylish,eco,reliable,,,, p.s. I'm a Honda insight driver,so not biased,but a relation has a i30,,,drives more than a 1000 m a week ,and no complaints about her
