    Hello

Just wondering does anybody know the QUICKEST route from Galway to Waterford ON PIBLIC transport, whether it be train or bus.

Seems to be that there is no direct route at all and about 20 different ways to get there.

So just looking for the quickest option.

This would be for elderly parents in law visiting and I don't want them 6 hours on a train or bus.

    Train would be the fastest.

    Check www.irishrail.ie for journey times.

take the 55 bus from Waterford to Limerick and the X51 from Limerick to Galway. That'll take about 4 hours. There's also bus NUG07 operated by JJ Kavanagh and that'll take you direct from Waterford to Galway in 3hours 59 mins they reckon. use the journey planner.

The train is slower with the exception of getting the 06:05 train from waterford to Dublin and changing at Kildare. That's 4 hours and 5 minutes, but who wants to be getting on a train at 6am? every other train is slower than the bus options.

If you are traveling on a Friday I would advise to get the 14.40 ex Galway instead of the 15.05 service while the 15.05 generally makes the connection Fridays see's Galway services experience constant delays and the 15.05 can be overcrowded.
