I may be travelling to La Coruna from Dublin in the near future and have been looking at booking flights. Iberia and Vueling seem to be the two main airline that cater to that area with a stop off in Madrid. I am quite a nervous flyer could anyone tell me if Iberia are a good *cough* safe airline to travel. My fear of flying and paranoia about crashing embarrass me :o

We should show collegiality with our fellow Celts and refer to it as A Coruña in the Galega (sounds like Gaelic) language. Iberia is a fellow subsidiary of IAG with British Airways and, now Aer Lingus. Vueling is a low cost carrier within IAG. The service level will depend on whether it's an Iberia, Iberia Express or Vueling operated flight but I wouldn't worry on safety grounds.

It's Iberia Express. I flew with them in July and was really impressed with them. Pleasant aircraft and crew, inexpensive food and drink on board. Checked in luggage and allocated seat (choose at booking) for free. Only think to beware is transfer time in Madrid. Try to get at least 90 minutes. My two were 50 and 45 minutes and it was too short in that the gates I was going to and from were miles apart and Madrid is a huge airport. Was quite stressful.
