Possible Water Pump Issue?

    Hi all,

I have a feeling there's something up with the water pump in the 3rd floor apartment I am on. It's located next to the hot and cold water tanks. It's all electric.

In the morning when I go for a shower, sometimes the pump does not kick in. For the last couple of days this has happened in one of the two showers in the apartment but not the other. It's like there is an air-lock. If you turn off the shower and then open the tap again it might kick in and work. It always eventually works but it can take a long time for it to kick in and pump with any sort of pressure (in fact you can hear the pump and when the pressure is so low the shower is just dribbling there is no sound from the pump).

Not sure of what to do. Is the pump just in need of replacing?

The pump may not need replacing, probably needs to be repaired, or there could be another issue that is affecting the pump.
What is the make and model of it?
