I was thinking of buying some wheels from China.

What is the charge from customs?

Is it 23% plus a percentage of the delivery charge?

    (cost+shipping+handling (7 euro with An post)+2.7%DUTY)*1.23 (VAT)=cost

basically VAT is chargable on wheel+fees+Duty

****no duty if its less than 150 euro***

I dont think the charge is important . However the cost of riding around on junk wheels could be massive.

Do you have direct experience or is that just hearsay? Genuine question.

I have a set of chinese wheels, have raced roads and cx on them, and they are fine. i know lots of other people who have chinese wheels with no problems, but am yet to meet someone who did have problems. I bought from a reputable seller and would buy again.

Think there are a good few on boardsies who have used them without issue. Make sure its a reliable supplier.

I've been using them for years and I love them..
I've heard all sorts of sh1te from people advising against them for this and that reason but I have never once heard first hand testimony of anyone who has had a fail..
I get my wheels checked regularly by a wheel builder.. thats what I would advise.

I have direct experience of someone who imported wheels from China about two years ago and had serious problems with bearings and spokes.
However i am not sure if he bought from a reputable dealer over there . So I suppose the advice would be to do your research and if possible speak to someone who has dealt with the company before.

+1 for farsports. Generally accepted to be the best if the huge thread on weightweenies is any indication.have had 3 sets of their wheels flawless so far.
