I use UPC - fastest broadband around.

UPC are the only sane choice unless you're in the few blackspot estates - you aren't.

Poor wifi is down to the router and not the connection, so be prepared to buy a seperate, better, wifi router.

Is It changed to “Virgin"? What TV channels do they provide?

    Yes.

If you are a heavy TV watcher it can make more sense to get UPC broadband and Sky TV. You also get about 15 analogue channels with UPC (whether you pay for TV or not) that can be split to other TVs etc free, which is an advantage Sky don't have.

Thank you, what type of WIFI router would you recommend?

The one they provide works perfectly fine for me. It lacks some power user features (like QoS or even a way to remotely reboot it) but it's free and it does the job.

Asus RT66 series is my go to for good quality routers.

The provided one works well for some people (^) but often it is the main or sole cause of complaints about the service.

All ISP's have a data per month limit. This can range from stupidly low (Like meteor's 7 or so gigs) to an "Unlimited" cap which is basically don't abuse it and there won't be issues.

Also using UPC, our wireless in the house was terrible upstairs, invested in a new router last week and it is so much better. I would avoid any providers with a cap as costs can get very high if you go over the cap.
