Hey, just enquiring does anyone know how much you can earn while on carers and how do you declare it? I know you work upto 15 hours a week but a healthcare assisstant can earn quite a bit in two shifts for example. Also what happens if if you go 2 or 3 hours over? My mam cares for my sister but she would like to do a bit extra to help with bills. I would really appreciate any info thank you.

If you go even 1 hour over you have to inform them and your Carers will cease.
If your mother is on Carers Allowance then it's means tested but the means test says that she and her partner can have €640 per week and still get all of the Carers.
If your mother starts working she needs to write to Carers and send them 2 payslips so they can asses her
