Stock Relief - Young Farmer

Hi, I am still waiting to find out if have been accepted into the young farmer/NS scheme but I remain optimistic :D Can someone briefly explain how stock relief works? and how it would benefit me as a young farmer? We run a small suckler herd and dabble in dry stock from time to time also when we have extra grass.

Difference between opening and closing value on stock can be used to reduce tax assessable profit. Not an accountant so open to correction on that
