Turn on Mac, broadband goes to hell

    Hey all

Typically have BB of ~10/12Mbps and 30msec ping. Turn my Mac on and goes to 2/3Mbps and 300msec ping. Can't see anything running in background, have done reboots, deleted a few gaming apps the kids had downloaded. Only thing I could remember different is that had started uploading photos to iCloud recently but this is switched off.

    Anyone got any ideas?

    Thanks!

View the 'Activity Monitor' and select the Network tab, that should show if there is any network activity and what is causing it.

Check your ipv4 and 6 settings in Networking. I vaguely remember some issue with Macs about this...
