Trade in mini for family car

Have a kid so it's time to move on my wife's 07 mini. Willing to spend between 15k and 20k plus the mini. A saloon or estate should do the job as I have a petrol accord . Doesn't bother me if it's diesel or petrol.

Wife seems to like the ix35 but haven't a clue on wether they are good or bad. Any suggestions?

What's your wife's typical driving? Is it mostly short school runs, trips to and from the shops, etc? Modern diesels do not like constant short journeys, they are not all the economical either as they take longer to warm up than a petrol car.

Nissan Qashqai is available in 1.2 turbo petrol or 1.5 diesel if your driving style suits it:

I'd say the most mileage that she would do in a trip in 20km. That going to work . All other journeys would be short alright. Will take a look at the qashqai

Your probably better off sticking with a petrol but your choices will be limited alright.

New Suzuki Vitara or SX4 S-Cross are other options:

It doesn't have to be a crossover though?

Maybe one of those hideous big minis would do?

Want to stay away from the minis. Going to take a look at a mondeo along with what has been mentioned already

A mondeo will be massive inside, loads of rear seat room and big boot. They are a bit bulky though, even compared to the likes of an ix35.

You'd find it hard getting a petrol mondeo.
