Incomplete VRC (logbook) - where should I apply for correction?

My logbook (vehicle registration certificat) issued in 2008 is not exactly complete.
It doesn't state EU vehicle category in field (J).
It is a passenger car so this should be indicated as M1.
On all other cars I had or have, this field (J) shows M1.
Only that car in question doesn't have this field completed - It's just blank.

I asked Departement of Transport in Shannon, as I though this will be their job to have this corrected, but they are directing me to contact revenue. I hardly can imagine what revenue could have to do with that.

Any advice or experience with that?
    Cheers.

Is that to do with if passenger vehicle, van etc as different vrt rates then ?.

If so was it ever converted to avail of cheaper vrt or taxed as a commercial vehicle?

A lot of them are blank, I wouldn't worry about it. Revenue register vehicles, which is why DoT are directing you to them.

No, no. It's a small car, therfore should be of category M1 (EU category for passenger vehicle).
I'm planning to export this car, and I know it's going to be a problem to register it in destination country, without EU vehicle category indicated in the Irish registration cert, so this needs to be corrected somehow.
