What qualifications are employers looking for in graphic design?

    Hi folks,
    Journalism graduate, work has dried up a bit so I'm looking to train in graphic design. I have professional experience in page layout, indesign, photoshop, etc but it's been a few years since I worked in it so probably a bit rusty.

    My problem is I don't really know where to start with getting qualifications. Could someone tell me what kind of things employers are looking for when hiring graphic designers. Or even better, could anyone point me in the direction of a course that's worth doing? I'm in Cork, if that helps.
