Regulator crunched to a halt yesterday with the drivers window down about an inch. Seemingly a new part is only available from the main dealer. I gave Hyundai dealer a call and very helpful chap came back to me with a quote of €157 for the regulator and €279 for the motor. That is not including vat or fitting.

I sourced an item on a US website where the two combined are costing a fraction of that at 112$. The pictures look the same. Anybody buy in something like this before?

Thank you for any help offered.

Try www.partfinder.ie for a used one.

Do you actually need both reg and motor though?

Not sure got into the internals and found a broken cable which looks like it should attach to the motor. Got the window up and secured and released from the mech but when I click the window button you can hear the motor trying to move but it does not.

Disconnect the motor mechanically from the reg and see if it turns.

Have that done. Looks like the cable that connects the motor to the mechanism snapped inside the motor. After I released and secured the glass I tried clicking the button, the motor sounded like it spun for a few seconds and then stopped. Now you can hear the motor trying to move but it will not.

I contacted Hyundai here in Ireland and they have refused to give me the part numbers. Has anyone else run into this?

Cheers. Dealer first and then Hyundai Ireland. Found a lad in Cavan has one out of a breaking car.

Might be back on the DIY section for help soon enough,
    Thank you.

I don't blame them, you are asking them to help you go buy something off someone else that they can supply you with. Let whoever you are buying it off help you, they are the ones you are giving your money to.....
