Considering joining so looking for opinions from any members that may be on here or anyone that's played it before.

For the members - is it easy to get on the timesheet for weekend comp/s? Same for summer evening comps?

Observations welcome from those that have played the course too please.

    Thanks

The timesheet is very easy to get onto, Youghal uses the BRS system, so you can generally get what time you want. The timesheet opens 2 weeks in advance.

I'm a member, and i like the course. There are a few times where you cross/share fairways, so that can be daunting for the uninitiated. The 2nd Fairway and the 18th are right next to each other, and this can bleed onto the 17th fairway if you're wild enough off the 2nd tee. The 4th tee box goes over the 10th green and crosses paths with the 11th tee box, so there can be a wait there. But common sense prevails (most of the time)

The 5 holes "across the road" would be seen as the best on the course, and can prove a challenge. In the winter months the course also reverts to its old 18 hole layout which makes for a quicker round.

One of the best aspects of the club, and one that might or might not appeal to you is the bar, Pa is a great craic and there's always fun to be had. If you intend on being more then a car boot golfer and come into the clubhouse for a coffee (or something stronger) after your round, you'll enjoy yourself.

You should try and get a round in sometime to check it out yourself, before committing to joining.

    Thanks for the info.

Will look to get a round in before pulling the trigger.

A car boot golfer I am not so all going well I'll be frequenting the bar regularly :)
