Eagles @ Patriots 6 December - NFL Trip Noob

So finally making my way over to see an NFL game in person

Eagles at Patriots on the 6 December, with game schedule for a 4.25pm ET kickoff.

Heading over as and Eagles fan with a mate who's a Pats fan along with the 2 girlfriends, and looking for some tips and advice in advance as to what to do around the Stadium etc before the game.

We're thinking of heading out pretty early to try to make sure we soak up the whole atmosphere etc beforehand. What's the best way to get out early enough. We priced a taxi and it's looking like 95$ out. Also found a private bus that goes out 4 hours early but that's coming in at 55$ per person (with return).
Both looking a little steep so if we could do public transport would be much better. Would I be right in saying the "Patriot Train" wouldn't leave til much later.

Anyways - any advice is welcome,

    Cheers!

Fortnight away now - ended up ordering a bus to bring us out 3 hours prior to kickoff so we should be there in loads of time.

Any tips for making the best of gameday or things to do around Gillette is more than welcome.

    Cheers

Nfl has a no bag policy, the wife found out the hard way a few weeks ago so don't bring any bags.

I've picked up one of the plastic see through bags for the missus actually because I did hear about this. Didn't know how strictly enforced it was but wasn't taking any chances

At the Ravens game last week herself didnt bring a bag cos of the rules. However going through the Ravens Walk they had a checked bag facility.

May not be at all venues and I've never seen at the Meadowlands.

The main problem with the Gillette is that it is in the middle of nowhere. I've been in the old and new stadiums there and the key ingredient is having a driver. You have that sorted so enjoy the tailgating.

Going to the Eagles game too... Can't wait

Soak up the tail gate, bring beers if you can. And don't mind anyone who says drink is expensive in the stadium... 7 dollars a pint. Concert prices...

There is a chance I will be at that game also and tailgating I will know this week if I am going to it though. If you guys make it out early and I am there you are more than welcome to join me and the missus tailgating.

As for pre-game atmosphere unless you are tailgating there really isn't any as Patriots place is just full of stores and restaurants. Having said that I see it from the point of view of being a local at this point. Drive to game tailgate and walk in in good time before kickoff
