I have 8 Lmx heifers here, 2.5 yr old now that I had running with a Lm bull this yr, got them scanned 2 weeks ago and 3 of them are not incalf. The lad that scanned them said that the three that are not incalf were sexually immature. Has anyone had heifers like this and what is the cause of this, all of these heifers are my own breeding and cannot figure out 5 of them were grand and these other 3 are like this. Thanks in advance.

Have come across this before when bulling heifers around 16 or 18 months. Usually when they be around 24 months they would be fine. Nearly always limousins too. I switched to scanning pre breeding cause of it. Get a very compact calving this way with no surprises.

So would you think it's more genetic rather than a mineral deficiency, wouldn't mind selling them but the three of them are 5 star heifers.

They are between 500 and 550 kgs now.

I'm not sure. If other heifers in the group getting the same treatment are mature then it's pointing towards genetics ? I see they are over 500kg. Don't think I ever had a heifer that heavy who wasn't mature.
