Annual leave accumulation

    Apologises if this question has been asked before. I was recently out sick for 8 weeks with a broken foot (all certified). I am wondering if I will have accumulated annual leave during this time? I only began work in July so would this be counted as one month worked in relation to annual leave accumulation or three months? Thanks in advance

    Yes the law around this changed a few months ago

    What is the new law and have you a link? While out on sick leave, employees did not accrue annual leave.

    Changed on 1st August to allow employees on certified sick leave accumulate annual leave and retain it for 15 months am on mobile so no link, Google annual leave and it's on citizens info

    Thank the EU. Crazy law IMHO, likely to make employers less accommodating of people being out on long-term sick leave. But yes, the OP will be getting annual leave for being out sick.
