My car wont start, it has a picture of a car and a lock on dashboard

I think that's the sign for imobaliser issue. Have you checked the manual?

I cant find Manual and have no spare key, it happened a while back but it started a few minutes later, was running ok last night'

Are there any other lights coming on. Is the engine management light flashing?

Every thing looks normal, battery is fine, all lights are ok, it's just dead!

When you say dead, is the starter motor turning when you turn the key?

No. nothing

I don't know about opens specifically, but on most cars the immobiliser doesn't disable the starter motor. It cuts fuel and doesn't spark.
Do you hear a click from the engine bay when you turn the key?

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say your problem is your starter motor.

You could try push starting it, or just keep turning the key on/off/on/off and it will prob eventually start.

If you can access the starter motor, a light tap with a hammer might help.

Don't know what the red light is about, maybe it's always there?

According to google it could be immobilizer or CIM (Column Interface Module)
