I'm looking to trade my 2006 E66 730Ld against a new BMW this month (stock car). Its navy with cream interior, sunroof, satnav, new tyres (Dunlops), 19" BMW Alloys, Tax Feb 2016, NCT July 2016, 167k kms 06 D Reg. Its not 100%,it has a few minor dings (shopping trollies) in the doors and a little scuffing on the alloys. However its in overall better than average condition.

What would people expect to be offered in a trade in from a BMW main dealer?

    Are you sitting down?

    Maybe 5k.

Although if you're buying something similar new (say a new 730Ld or something else similarly expensive), they might tell you they're giving 8 or 10 to not make you feel quite so bad but just give no discount instead.

    Sell it private!

Yup €5-6k or maybe more depending on how much the dealer inflates it against the new car.

I'm highly considering one of these as my next car if and when I am back in Ireland.

Good luck with the sale and the new car!
