Android Box

I'm currently looking to buy an android box. i have been told that Minix are the brand to get and i was just wondering whether people could point me in the direction for my quite basic needs which are: A relatively cheap box that only needs to have at least one usb output that can play as video types- MKV, AVI, and MP4. Also only needs to be 1080p no need for 4k. Any ideas as to models and on what website to buy them on?? any help would be highly appreciated!!

I think he means you could try post in the appropriate thread,seeing it already exists.You can gather a general idea there of what box might suit you best.Put it this way,there are tonnes of options available ranging from €40 up.

But in most cases with the boxes...you get what you pay for.If you know what I mean.

To be honest I would not be the best for advice on the best box for your needs.I'm not a fan of most of the cheap options,they often tend to be junk(not all of them).

A few pointers :

1: Wherever you buy from,make sure there is good support and easy returns(just in case).

2: I like to stick to boxes with at least 2GB Ram.

3: Know what you want the box to do before you buy.Like if you don't have any need for Apps and the likes & just want to stream with Kodi,look into running OpenELEC OS on the device(which is built/streamlined for running Kodi).

4: The Minix boxes are great and well supported the best three would be....The Z64 Models Android or Windows(you can duel boot on them too) and the most popular is the X8H plus.

5:There are lots of other good similar boxes out there like the T8 V1,V2,V3,Amiko A3 or some of the Pipo boxes x7 upwards.

6:I'm not going to recommend any sites because some are not allowed here and
I have affiliation with a couple.Plus if I did,I'd have someone jump on my comments telling you to buy from China because it's cheaper(which is not really the case for many....due to import duties and other added costs.)

So you should have some info there and read some of the actual Android Box thread.Plus if you google some Kodi Forums,you'll get plenty of help and ideas.

Most boxes come with cast abilities.Just do a Google search on the subject.
