Free .xyz domain name

    I saw this on another site - but so far it seems to be a free .xyz domain name. I think the basic hosting might even be free...

    As elsewhere on the site I see the normal pricing:

    So there seams to be a cost to it.

    I use masked phone numbers when I sign up to something and since I signed up for this free offer, I am getting calls from a known boiler room on the masked phone number.

    Hostinger, AUB is an accredited registrar of ICANN (the blokes who assign the domain suffixes and whatnot) since 2013. I doubt very much that they're up to no good, or ICANN would pull the plug fast.

    Sure, many Irish registrars couldn't get accreditation.

    I also would exclude they sell the phone numbers.
    I registered in October the .zyz free domain, and so far I did not experience any calls or other spam activity (touching timber).
    By the way they are still pushing on the free .xyz campaign
    In this occasion the Icann fee is charged to buyers ( 0.18 £)
